Gempolym Gangue Depressants
|
OVERVIEW
GEMPOLYM GANGUE DEPRESSANTS are developed and manufactured at our modern factory in Robertville.
These Gangue Depressants are custom-developed for each flotation application. They prevent the floating of gangue minerals like talc, antigonite, chlorite etc., and so reporting to the concentrate float, and so inhibiting concentrate grades for smelting without penalising the overall recovery of minerals.
OPERATION
GEMPOLYM GANGUE DEPRESSANTS are added to the feed box or conditioning tank at the head of the rougher cells.
Here they prevent the activation of the gangue particles, and so inhibit their ability to report to the mineral concentrate being floated. One can control the mass pull in this way.
In some cases this can enhance the floatability of the mineral by improved flotation rate.
Gangue Depressants are also added to the cleaning section - again to increase the concentrate grade.
SPECIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
GEMPOLYM GANGUE DEPRESSANTS are individually matched for various applications, and custom produced to suit the various ore bodies being treated.
The key raw materials used to manufacture GEMPOLYM GANGUE DEPRESSANTS are polysaccharides, both unmodified and with various chemical modifications, modified starches, various cellulosics and galactomannans.
APPLICATIONS AND USES
All Sulphide mineral and Base metal flotation.
Nickel, Copper, Platinum Group Metals, Zinc, Cobalt.
Phosphate flotation.
Fluorspar flotation.

Thickeners Stabilisers Viscosifiers
|
Overview
GEMPOLYM FOOD THICKENERS are Guar Gum or Carboxy Methyl Cellulose based, and are extensively used in the following industries
Canned meats, fish, vegetables and soups.
Fruit Juices
Dairy Products - such as ice-cream, cheese, spreads, yoghurts,
instant pudding etc.
Moisture stabiliser for processed meats and pet foods.
Operation
Guar gum is a cold water soluble polysaccharide, and carries a wide range of uses in the food industry. These uses depend on the properties provided by very large molecules in various states of hydration, mostly in solution.
Guar gum hydrates very easily to produce an aqueous solution possessing a high viscosity at low gum concentrations.
These solutions are good emulsifiers and stabilisers, due to the fact that they prevent oil droplets from co-alescing. They may also have the property of interfacial binding and thereby act as true emulsifiers.
Guar gum is also used as a suspension stabiliser as it allows only slow setting, because of it's thickening power.
